On Saturday 17 September 2011, we hosted l’Espérance, the Neufchâtel-Hardelot Band from the Pas de Calais region, which we visited in November 2010.
This reception was the occasion for a concert where each group presented a rich and varied program, as well as a finale with two pieces played together. As l’Espérence also has over 60 members, there were approximately 120 musicians on stage for this finale.
L'Alliance Musicale, directed by Olivier Sergent, interpreted the following works :
TOCCATA de Claudio Monteverdi (arr. Jacob de Haan)
CHORAL DU VEILLEUR de J.S. Bach ( arr. Philip Sparke)
POMP and CIRCUMSTANCE d’Edward Elgar (arr. M.Retford & Alfred Reed)
LES GOBELINS de Solène Roux
EMPEROR de Thierry Deleruyelle
L'Espérance de Neufchâtel, directed by Fabrice Bouchez, presented :
2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY by Richard Strauss (arr. Ronald Bell)
FUSION FACTORY by James L. Hosay
FANTASY ON A JAPANESE FOLK SONG by Samuel R.Hazo
MUSIC FROM BRAVEHEART by James Horner (arr. Johnnie Vinson)
FESTIVAL IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING by Edvard Grieg
(arr. Idar Torskangerpoll)
MAZAMA by Jay Chattaway

For the finale, both groups played:
MOMENT FOR MORRICONE de Johan de Meij, directed by Eric Gesland
ABBA GOLD, directed by Benoît Sergent
